california corvette

As a Fabrication Designer on the California Corvette concept program, I led the design engineering and integration of a deployable rear spoiler mechanism from concept development through full vehicle implementation. I developed a compound-motion mechanism combining telescoping and rotational movement, selecting and packaging the hardware and linear actuation system within the vehicle's design constraints. To evaluate both functionality and deployment aesthetics, I created engineering animations and motion studies and executed an iterative design-build-test process. I developed three proof-of-concept prototypes, progressing from a waterjet-cut marine plywood analog to increasingly representative assemblies incorporating production-intent components, ultimately validating the mechanism architecture and motion behavior. In addition to the mechanical system, I developed the electrical layout, wiring diagrams, and installation strategy for the spoiler mechanism and associated lighting components, supporting integration into a concept vehicle.
