ProcessWhat I Help Build
I like to work. I like the process. I like making cool stuff ā kinematic mechanisms, multi material assemblies that move with a twinkly light or two. I get excited about taking CAD and turning it into physical hardware that functions, and I like watching an idea come into focus as adjustments are made in the computer and on the shop floor.
Work Flow
I like moving through big decisions early. I figure out the components that drive the package criteria, leaving the adaptable details for later. I like to pursue multiple solutions simultaneously and allow room for discoveries along the way. Eventually the hardware has to hold up to real world conditions, and that's where a proof of concept earns its keep, showing you things about assembly sequence, ergonomics, and how hardware actually feels.
Skills
I work the gamut ā CAD to Fabrication to Integration.
Fabrication
CNC Ā· waterjet Ā· 3D printing Ā· manual machining Ā· basic mechatronics integration
Design
Mechanisms and motion studies Ā· component research Ā· CAD development
Deliverables
Drawings Ā· documentation Ā· BOMs
Working Cross-Functionally
I love working with a team, and believe that the products are created by the hive mind. I excel in work environments where everyone agrees that no job is too small. I started on the shop floor as a technician, so whether it's the mill, the grinder, the welder, or just a wrench, Iām happy to pick it up to get the project done.
